The World Famous Pink Lake

The world famous pink lake which is situated in Western Australia is reputed because of its pink colour and it delights our eyes. It is about 600 metres in lengthy about 250 metres in width. This is the only lake that has colourful water. 

The lake Hiller is surrounded by a rim of sand and a dense woodland of paperbark and eucalyptus trees.The reason of its unique colour is still a topic that is not fully understood by scientists. Sometimes as they show the strange pink colour is due to the presence of algae. Though its pink colour is less accentuated when viwed from the surface, it is prominent from above.The water of this lake is otherwise clear and it causes no harm to the human skin and the Dunaliella salina alga is completely harmless as well.
