THE TAJ MAHAL

The taj mahal, the white marble mausoleum was constructed by the moghul emperor Shah jehan in the 17th century as a tomb for his beloved wife mumtaz mahal. It is situated in northern india.

             It is not one of the wonders of the world. But it is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The tomb is a perfect example of persian style of architecture. This white marble mausoleum is inlaid with precious stones. It is found in a spacious garden with well kept lawns bordered by cypress trees and water channels. It is octogon in shape. The Taj mahal is 130 feet at its widest point and nearly 200 feet high to the top of the huge dome.

             Over lakhs of people come from india and all over the world to see this magnificient building every  year.
