The taj mahal, the white marble mausoleum was constructed by the moghul emperor Shah jehan in the 17th century as a tomb for his beloved wife mumtaz mahal. It is situated in northern india.

This white marble mausoleum is inlaid with precious stones. It is found in a spacious garden with well kept lawns bordered by cypress trees and water channels. It is octogon in shape. The Taj mahal is 130 feet at its widest point and nearly 200 feet high to the top of the huge dome.
